Clear Acrylic, often mistaken for brand names such as clear Perspex® Sheets, Plexiglas, Acrycast and Policril, is a hardwearing, optically transparent material that can be used in a diverse range of environments. Acrylic also boasts low moisture absorption qualities, high resistance to chemicals and UV resistance. With great optical clarity and strong weather resistance, clear acrylic sheets are a cheaper, lighter and safer alternative to glass for use in greenhouses, sheds, as secondary glazing and in DIY projects. Not only is clear acrylic sheeting safe due to its shatterproof characteristics, but it's extremely functional, too. The smooth surfaces are easy to clean using just a cloth and warm soapy water making the product a hygienic fit for bathrooms and kitchens.

FAQs
Can clear acrylic go cloudy?
Yes due to it being susceptible to damage from ammonia-based chemicals. This is why the cleaning instructions for acrylic plastic are specific about using low-impact cleaning solutions and substances like water, soap, and vinegar.
Can you make cloudy acrylic clear again?
Of course you can! You can attempt to remedy the acrylic by using water and vinegar. Vinegar is a very common household cleaner which lifts dirt from surfaces effectively. By mixing equal parts of water and vinegar and dousing the plastic in the solution for an hour, you may notice a difference in the cloudiness of your plastic.
However, it should be noted that this may not restore your plastic to its original condition. If this is the case you can always try sanding the acrylic using a number of different grits, followed by a more abrasive polish.
What can clear acrylic be used for?
There are various applications including acrylic splashbacks and secondary glazing to display cases and furniture. Due to the durability and flexibility of acrylic plastic once heated, it can be moulded into many shapes, sizes and thicknesses. So it can be used for almost anything you can think of!
